UAAP Season 70 was the 2007-2008 season of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines, which was hosted by the University of Santo Tomas. The De La Salle University-Manila's Green and Lady Archers and De La Salle-Santiago Zobel School's Junior Green Archers returned after being suspended from Season 69. It opened on July 7, 2007 at the Araneta Coliseum.

Former UST Growling Tigers basketball player Ed Cordero is the season's commissioner. The theme is "Winners All, Recreating the Value of Honesty through Sports"[1]

Men's games were held at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium, the Cuneta Astrodome and the Araneta Coliseum; women's and juniors' games were held at the school gyms of Adamson University, Ateneo de Manila University and Far Eastern University.

Football

The UAAP Football officially opened last January 12, 2007 at the Ateneo Erenchun Field at the Ateneo de Manila University. Tournament host and former 3-Peat Men's Champion Ateneo led the opening ceremonies.

Three titles are being disputed in the UAAP Football category. Manner of play: Double round robin. Team that sweeps both rounds automatically wins championship. Otherwise, #1 team has twice-to-beat advantage over #2 team in Finals. Games in Finals go into 2 10 min. OT periods then a penalty shootout to decide winner.

The UAAP Volleyball will officially open on December 1, 7 AM at the Blue Eagle Gym hosted by University of the Philippines. As venue host, Ateneo de Manila University Men's Volleyball Team will first take on University of the East Men's Volleyball as the opening game for the Season.

Men's Volleyball games will mostly be at the Blue Eagle Gym and some at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum. Women's Volleyball action meanwhile will have its opening game at the Blue Eagle Gym and will transfer to Ninoy Aquino Stadium in their next games. Junior's and Girls' Volleyball will be held at the University of the East Gymnasium but some of their games will be at the University of the Philippines College of Human Kinetics Gym.

All games of De La Salle from January 15 on were forfeited when player Jacqueline Alarca continued playing despite her school's approval of her leave of absence. This led her to cease as a De La Salle student, breaking UAAP rules that a player must be enrolled to the school the person represents.[2]

Cheerdance

The 2007 Cheerdance Competition was on September 16, 2007, 3 PM at the Araneta Coliseum, Araneta Center, Cubao, Quezon City.

The Cheerdance Competition is not counted on the tabulation of the Overall Championship.

The UP Pep Squad clinched their fourth UAAP cheerdance title after 5 years, with UST settling for second place, and FEU humbling back to third place.
